چکیده
Key words: acute renal failure; interstitial nephritis; elevated serum total protein, together with a slight MHC class II antigen; tubular basement membrane decrease in serum albumin was noted. Serum creatinine immune deposition was 3.6 mg/dl and blood urea nitrogen was 53 mg/dl. Serum chloride was slightly increased (112 mmol/l). The endogenous creatinine clearance was 21.6 ml/min/ 1.73 m2. Serological tests showed hypocomplement

Characterization of a renal tubular epithelial cell line which secretes the autologous target antigen of autoimmune experimental interstitial nephritis
Proximal tubular epithelial cells from mice which develop autoimmune interstitial nephritis were found to express the nephritogenic target antigen, 3M-1. Anti-3M-1 mAbs (alpha 3M-1-Ab) were used to positively select for 3M-1-secreting tubular epithelium and, after stabilization in culture, this new cell line (MCT) was examined for the production of several moieties important to either immune in...
متن کاملInterstitial immune complex nephritis in patients with systemic lupus erythematosus.
Interstitial immune complex nephritis in patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). Renal tissues from 45 patients with SLE nephritis, 34 patients with idiopathic membranous nephropathy (IMN) and 77 patients with minimal glomerular disease (MGD) were studied by light, immunofluorescence and electron microscopy. Interstitial nephritis characterized by focal or diffuse infiltration of infl...
متن کاملGiant cell tubulitis with tubular basement membrane immune deposits: a report of two cases after cardiac valve replacement surgery.
This paper presents two elderly patients who had normal baseline renal function and had stenotic valvular lesions secondary to rheumatic fever and underwent aortic valve replacements with mechanical valves. Both patients developed acute renal failure after cardiac valve replacement procedures. The renal biopsies revealed acute granulomatous tubulointerstitial nephritis. The unique histologic fe...

Immune complex tubulointerstitial nephritis due to antibodies to brush border antigens of the proximal tubule has been demonstrated experimentally and rarely in humans. Our patient developed ESRD and early recurrence after transplantation. IgG and C3 deposits were conspicuous in the tubular basement membrane of proximal tubules, corresponding to deposits observed by electron microscopy. Rare su...
متن کاملTubulointerstitial nephritis complicating IVIG therapy for X-linked agammaglobulinemia
BACKGROUND Patients with X-linked agammaglobulinemia (XLA) develop immune-complex induced diseases such as nephropathy only rarely, presumably because their immunoglobulin (Ig) G concentration is low. We encountered a patient with XLA who developed tubulointerstitial nephritis during treatment with intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIG). CASE PRESENTATION A 20-year-old man was diagnosed with XLA 3...
